However instead of using DNA to add symptoms to increase infectivity, you could spend research points to research symptoms to slow down the infectivity. For example, if you research coughing, the plagues infectivity goes down by a small amount. If the plague contains coughing in its genetic makeup, then you will get a boost upon research, suppressing the infectivity of the plague a lot more as well as adding points to the overall earth cure that wins the game. You will get hints at what the plague is causing through the odd news story that comes up or doctors advice (pops up like news) These are mostly random but there will be an ability to raise the chances of the symptoms being discovered. This can be more or less frequent depending on difficulty and the plagues obviousness. So the stealthy options will still be good for the plague. How quickly you gain research points depends on how much your research is slowing down the infection. Pimp c new album. A sort of anti Infection. So the more research you use on symptoms, the more you supress the Plague in return giving research. By having the same symptoms as the plague you can also boost the time it takes the final cure to complete, winning the game quicker. Transmissions are similiar. By researching them you can slow down the infectivity in certain conditions (such as researching rodents allows you to slow down infectivity in built up areas or Birds slowing down land transmission) and it can also cut down the effect they have on the plague when it evolves them. E.g: Bird 1: Teach the public to stay away from birds when possible and to wash hands when handling. This will force the Plague to use points to keep the ability to use boats and planes. The first one forces the Plague to get the first, and the second reduces the chance of the transport being infected. Now on to the abilities This will contain the most different choices. Most of these should be designed to help the Cure creation rather than Plague prevention. It will have a few similiar ones such as Improved drugs (sells drugs to richer countries that slows down infection in richer areas) that will require the need of the plague to get drugs resistance to combat it, but here i will list some ideas of what a cure could do to help its final goal. Research boost: speeds up cure creation, handy to counteract the research slowing symptoms a bit. There could be a few of these but would need to be balanced. Doctors Orders: Raise the chance of doctors notes appearing (news stories that hint at a symptom the plague causes) Remember more correctly researched symptoms means a faster cure.
